​County Light-Dut​y Fleet Conversion Program

Light Dudy Fleet Conversion ProgramSacramento County has conve​rted 10% of its light-duty fleet to more fuel-efficient vehicles (gas/electric hybrids) as cars and light trucks reach 12 years or 120,000 miles for replacement. Purchases of SUVs now require special approval and non-safety vehicles are replaced with hybrids as budgets allow. The County a fleet maintenance facility at the Bradshaw Branch Complex, to maintain and repair all types of energy efficient vehicles, including hybrids and Liquefied Natural Gas-fueled vehicles, trucks and equipment.

In all, the county has 3,000 cars, vans, SUVs and small trucks
​servicing more than 50 County departments.
