Following the completion of Measures SLR-01 and SLR-03, guide future development out of areas that are vulnerable to sea-level rise and associated hazards.
Benefits: Guiding development out of areas vulnerable to sea-level rise would reduce future flooding impacts on people and property.
This measure will have co-benefits related to flood risk.
Timeframe: Near term/ongoing
Status of Implementation
New developments are reviewed on a case-by-case basis to determine whether they are in areas vulnerable to sea-level rise. Staff anticipates including this measure as a policy in the General Plan Update.
